It differs from the classic Cactus for its thin and knitted particular core, which allows the effect fibers to be arranged more sparsely, yet strongly held. This material is of considerable help for the construction of medium-small bodies, without bulking the artificial pattern too much.
This is suitable for small and medium patterns. With an increased-size core designed to withstand high tensions.
The fine core means really slim bodies are possible. Try Brill on a curved hook for a fantastic bloodworm pattern or any of the natural colours under a shellback for a superb (and very quick to tie) shrimp. Or use it on a sparsely tied salmon pattern, the options are endless. Lower fibre density coupled with fine core makes great thoraxes for bead head flies.

Invicta dressed by Davie McPhail
Brill UV (Straggle String)
12 mm Brill (Straggle String) with the addition of UV fibers, the color effects produced are extremely effective on “straggle” type lake patterns, and of course a great body for nymphs!
A great material for use on both trout, grayling and salmon patterns. Tie it in sparse for salmon patterns or use it as a body on trout/grayling patterns like boatman, beetles and more.
A very versatile material that should be in everyone's arsenal.
12mm fibres, 3 meters per card. From Textreme in Italy.
Chadwick Wool Substitute
Veniard's had this replica developed in Germany. As close to the original sawyers nymph wool as possible used in the Killer bug pattern.
Chocklett's Finesse Body Chenille
Available in Medium, 3/4", or Large, 1 1/4", this chenille is amazing.
For tying Gamer Changer style streamers and other palmered baitfish imitations.
Chocklett’s Finesse Body Chenille is a synthetic chenille perfect for tying Game Changer style flies. It’s not quite a dense as Chocklett’s Body Wrap, so it works well on smaller flies while the finished fly has more micro movement. From palmering the chenille to adding a few wraps to the front of a fly to fish it off, this chenille increases your options when tying Game Changers and other palmered baitfish imitations. Try it with the Articulated Fish Spine.
CWO Glacier Flash
Finally, our own line of flash is here!
I am so excited to offer our own line and have some great new colors I want to introduce to everyone that is not available to other fly shops.
All the flash has the same amount of threads however some do have 2 extra threads wrapping the main color strand making a bulkier flash while others have just the main color strand offering a sleek look when you want just a hint of color.
Chironomid guys, don't worry as the Gun Metal and Steel grays that we offered before in Kreelex and Kreinik are exactly the same colors that we have here.
A few particular outstanding colors are:
Speckled Gold and Speckled Silver have tiny black dots on each strand
Speckled Trout is a very fine, blue holographic carrying a vast array of color
Clearwaters is a Glow in the Dark.
Orange Float, Granny Smith Apples, Sunshine and Watermelon are UV.
Salmon, Open Air and Dandelions are Transparent.
Each hank is approximately 19" long and comes in various bulks:
Bulky (B) which has one main twisted color with two additional minute threads wrapping around it.
Semi Bulky (SB) which is smaller and is slightly wrinkled or twisted and may include the two additional minute threads.
Sleek (S) is only one straight, flat thread but is either 1/32" or 1/16" wide and is usually semi-transparent or holographic.
Glacier Flash can completely replace other flashes like Flashabou in your tying boxes and is strong so if you nick the hook, it will not instantly break like some other flashes. Use Clearwaters on your wet streamers or as the wing on a Wulff pattern or replace the wool on a Red Tag with Berry Red. Tie in the UV colors in your big salmon patterns or make the popular Kreelex Fly in various colors. The uses for Glacier flash is only limited to your imagination.
Easy Shrimp Legs

Comes in Clear only, does not include eyes.
Fair Flies Brushes
Every brush is built with the highest grade stainless steel wire at its core leaving it salt and rust proof. Tying with our brush simply builds a better fly. Thread loosens when wet and materials will move.
As with all of the brushes you are in control. More turns give fuller, bulkier profiles and fewer allow you to downsize for low, clear situations. Start on any platform you wish: tubes, hooks, jigs, shanks, with weight, or without. Add a wing, or don't; again it's up to you. But no matter how you fish, these materials will get you a lot of hookups.
We are not taking the fun out, we are just taking some of the time out!

Note on Shipping: Because of the size of the brush container, we cannot ship these using the $6.00 shipping, they are way over sized for that packaging.
GT Brush Bug dressed by Dennis Gamboa " GT Bleeding Leech"
A little bit about this fabulous company:
Fair Flies is a registered Benefit Corporation in the state of Oregon. Why is this important? As a Benefit Corporation we place mission first in our operating agreements. It is the job of our board of directors to make sure that we are first about mission and second about financial returns. Sustainability is important to us be we want to do it in the right way. We believe in Trade instead of Aid and we use fly tying materials as our primary product to provide livable wages to marginalized people in compromised areas around the world but focused in SE Asia.
Fair Flies is all about pairing your passion for fly fishing with our desire to make positive impacts with communities around the world. Our suppliers are committed to bettering the lives of the people they employ, be that with young people who need direction and purpose to stay out of crime, widows who need help providing for their children, victims of exploitation who need to be rehabilitated, or simply parents whose children are at risk of being sold into slavery. Obtaining regular orders from Fair Flies helps these suppliers retain employees and provide ongoing mentorship as they engage in the art of fly tying.
It is equal parts proactive and reactive. By paying living wages up front, we are able to help in many ways. Families can stabilize because fathers can remain in country and mothers can move the family financially forward. This removes the temptation to send their children elsewhere for the hope of a better life, which often turns into some form of exploitation. We are also able to help victims of exploitation. They find a better way to live in a loving environment that provides a wonderful network of counseling and emotional support. Many come with stress disorders and need these supports to start a new life. This is our mission. These are the ones we care about and who your purchase supports.
Winter Steelhead Fly dressed by Dennis Gamboa, " Steely Blue"
Farrars Flash Blend and UV Flash Blend
Choose the original Flash Blend or the UV Flash Blend.
This synthetic material was developed by renowned American Tyer, Steve Farrar and is unique in the fact that is already tapered you only need this blend to complete the fly.
This material is a perfect blend of the Slinky Fibre and the Slinky Blend with just a fine Mylar flash.
The bleeding of colors incorporate a red and wisteria color flash. The Midnight, Violet Night, Peacock and Herring Black have a wisteria (dark blue/green). The rest of the colors have a pearl color flash blended in.
Slinky fiber blends with UV fibers developed by tier Steve Farrar. UV really adds to the fish appeal of the traditional SF Blends.
Fish Skull Faux Bucktail
Tapered synthetic fly tying fibers.
Tie flies of all types and sizes from nymphs to Clousers to T-Bones with Fish-Skull Faux Bucktail, a tapered synthetic multi-use fly tying fiber designed to imitate typical premium-length natural bucktail.
Fish-Skull Faux Bucktail fibers have the same basic diameter, gentle crinkle, and taper as natural bucktail. In appearance, it looks almost identical and has the same distinctive bucktail fly or lure action in the water. However, the fibers are not hollow (which helps your fly sink faster) and will not “flare” in the same way as regular bucktail while tying. This means you will need to tie with slightly different techniques to achieve the same effect.
Every Faux Bucktail fiber is premium 6” (152 mm) length, giving you more than twice the amount of usable fibers per tail and eliminating the headache of sorting and searching for ideal strands. Simply peel off the full length of your desired amount of fibers, trim to length, and tie them in.
The fibers can be used in a wide range of fly or lure types.
Streamers:From tying typical Clouser Minnows or Deceivers right up to large, “bite-proof” Pike, Musky or Golden Dorado flies.
Poppers: Tie simple and durable tails on foam poppers
Bucktail Jigs:Tougher, longer lasting fresh and saltwater bucktail jigs.
Musky Bucktail Lures or dressed trebles.
Note: Faux Bucktail cuts easily, but like most other synthetic materials can be hard on your nice scissors. Use serrated heavy duty scissors designed for synthetics (or an old pair you don’t mind abusing).
Flybox Pure Micro Straggle String
Micro Straggle is a versatile synthetic for tying nymphs and lures. Built on a straggle string this material has fine 5mm fibres which give it a more subtle/natural look. The material only has dyed translucent fibres. Great for nymphs and buzzers and even lures. From Flybox.
Flybox T-10 Translucent Chenille
Translucent T-10 is 10mm in size, making it ideal for HALO and Mini Gem Blobs. Dyed into a stunning range of fluorescent colours for every pattern thinkable, it is a high quality chenille from Scotland. It is famous for stillwaters competitors in Scotland, Wales & England. Very effective and quality dyed colors, it's a strong chenille easy to tie with and gives a "Jelly" effect for your streamers, blobs, boobies and nymphs.
Flybox T-15 Translucent Jelly Gel Core Chenille
The Flybox T-15 Translucent is made from a durable and dyeable translucent material. This material gives a unique jellylike look in the water and is great for tying blob and lure patterns. One of the benefits of the T-15 Translucent is the array of vibrant colors that attract the light in the water. 15mm chenille.
FNF Micro Jelly
Tie the Jelly Tot just like the photo here.
See how the color underneath glows through the outer larger 15mm Jelly Fritz!
This is the same translucent, soft Jelly Frtiz as the larger 15mm version but in a Micro 6mm size. Use it under 15mm Fl. Milk as shown above. Experiment with different colors underneath to create Blobs that are wildly different than any others!
FNF Slush Jelly
FNF have spent a lot of time perfecting an easy to use 15mm fritz/chenille that gives a slush like appearance in the water. A mixture of jelly fibres and a candy floss like compound gives this material its slushy appearance when wet. Slush Jelly is a 15mm fritz/chenille mounted on a micro core.
This material can be used for many applications and Trout in particular love the slushy fibrous appearance.
Slush Jelly has also been designed to be extremely soft to reduce the chance of fish spitting the material out before you even know they have taken it.
Please note the colours will intensify once wet. 2m per pack. From FNF.
A unique braided body material that is similar to diamond braid but smaller and softer. A neat trick is to pull on one loose end of the braid and "unravel" a section to make it even thinner for wrapping bodies on chironomid bodies, etc.
Phil Rowley has the following to say about Frostbite:
Frostbite is essentially a woven knotted Flashabou like material that is dispensed on cards or spools in the same manner as fly tying thread. When it comes to chironomid pupa and larva patterns Frostbite is a preferred material.

Tips for use
For best results use a drill on a fast setting and cut through the foam very slowly. Use a 25% detergent, 75% water lubricant to provide a smoother cut and reduce friction. The large cutter can also be used by hand, but performance is reduced. The cutters come pre sharpened, so try and drill on to a soft surface such as rubber, card or foam to keep the cutter sharp - they can be re-sharpened if required. Use a bodkin or needle to gentle remove the foam without damaging it.
