Body Tubing by Fish Skull
Co-developed with Blane Chocklett
Blane Chocklett is widely regarded as one of the best big game anglers, fly tyers, and guides in the world. Chocklett’s Body Tubing is the authentic “secret ingredient” used by Blane in everything from trout flies to musky flies for heads, to segment the bodies, and to keep the materials flared up, allowing them to push more water and have the illusion of bulk — the hollow fly effect — while being light and castable all day.
Length per pack: 1/8" x 3', 1/4” x 3', and 1/2” x 2'
Create a bigger fly body with less materials The more materials you use, the heavier your fly gets, making it harder to cast. Body Tubing creates a ramp for your material to lay against, which flares it out to create the illusion of bulk without using much material, keeping your fly light and easy to cast.
Make your fly push more water The flared materials allow your fly to push more water, making it more likely to attract the attention of your target fish.
Give your streamers longer lives Body Tubing is designed to be tied to protect thread wraps from the teeth of fish. In addition, as the body materials begin to flatten against the body from extended fishing, you can push the tubing forward against the tying materials to flare them back up.
Alternative to reverse-tying for easier body tapering of flies Whether you're tying with deer hair or other fibers, Body Tubing provides a solution to time-consuming reverse-tying.
For use in fresh and saltwater streamer fly patterns of all sizes Body Tubing was made famous for its use in the T-Bone, a large musky fly, but it's a useful material for flies of all sizes. The 3-size range (1/8", 1/4", 1/2") is designed to provide an option for any size streamer fly pattern and to allow for tapering.
Quantity per pack: 3 sizes (1/8" and 1/4” have 3 feet per packet and 1/2” has 2 feet per packet) Comes in Clear only.

These plastic tubes are formulated to work well in all water and weather conditions, and to stand up to any pattern. Economical and performance rolled up in one great tube. The Large and Small Rigid Tubes also include a hook holder tube, all you have to do is add imagination!
Rigid Tubes are designed for high hoop strength so they are great for deer hair patterns and other patterns that use bulky materials that require heavy tying pressure. The tube material is good for all but the coldest water.
Available in Lg (1/8") and Small (3/32") diameters.
Small Rigid Tubes are also available with a thicker wall (TW), for greater strength and better performance in cold conditions. TW tubes are 3/32 inch OD x 5" long, 10 pk. Requires .031" Pin.
HMH Cut-T-Length Flexible Micro Tubing
Flies can be tied directly onto this tiny tubing, or it can be used to line any other tube that fits a 1/16" mandrel. To use a s a liner, first tie your tube fly. Then take a length of Micro Tubing and heat one end with a flame so that it swells to nearly twice the diameter. Then insert the micro tubing from the rear end of the fly and out through the front. Trim the Micro Tubing about 1/16' longer than the fly and flame the end so that it swells and won't come out.
Holographic Fly Fiber
This is a really nice, super fine, holographic fiber. It's two sided with silver on one side and the main color on the other. Use on streamers, for skirts or as flash. From Hedron.
Kreinik Flash in a Tube
Kreinik Flash In A Tube™ is a fine-fiber synthetic material which exhibits a metallic-like gleam. Its’ reflective properties add sparkle to the tails and wings of many types of flies. The hair-like fibers are soft and static free, making it easy to work with. Kreinik Flash is unaffected by saltwater or epoxy finishes, yet is flexible enough to be mixed with marabou, enhancing its action in the water.
Kreinik Flash In A Tube™ has many uses. It is the one and only flash to use on the Kreelex Fly. Add a few strands to the tails of woolly buggers, bass bugs, poppers, eels, and leech patterns. Mix some Flash with bucktail in streamers. Single strands can be used as ribbing on nymphs and wet flies. Possibly the most innovative use is in some of the popular dry fly patterns. The white glow-in-the-dark can be used as a substitute for calftail in a Royal Trude, or as the wing post in a Parachute Adams. It’s like having a built-in strike indicator. Or tie the incomparable Kreelex Fly like this one below.
Chironomids? Well look no further, this has taken over Flashabou. The silvers and coppers work especially great and don't forget to look for the Gunmetal Grey 011HL. It is the closest color on the market to the old 6916 Gunmetal Flashabou and has been used with incredible results.
Each package includes a clear plastic tube, making Flash easy and convenient to store while keeping stray fibers from adding clutter to your tying bench. The tube enables you to store several colors in a small tray, or bundle the tubes together with a rubber band. There are 250, 12" strands in each skein, folded over in the middle and bound with a wire tie.
What do the letters mean? Colors ending in a "V" such as 001V have a matte, less reflective finish. Colors ending in a "HL" such as 001HL are hi-lustre and are very shiny. Colors ending in a "L" such as 001L are holographic.
Leech Yarn needs no introduction. Long angora hair twisted into a yarn. These long, breathable fibers are best used for streamers and hairy nymph bodies. Super buggy! Six great colors.
Round Rubber Hackle
