Deb grew up on the Sunshine Coast and has been fishing for salmon as long as she can remember. It wasn't until 1998 that she caught her first freshwater trout, and within a few months she traded in her worm and spinning rod for some fly fishing gear and flies.
In 2003 she met her husband Randy, and he encouraged her to start tying her own flies, although she didn't seriously start getting into it until the past couple of years. She ties trout flies for both moving and stillwater, as well as salt and freshwater patterns for salmon and trout. Deb recently began learning to tie Steelhead and more traditional Salmon flies.
Along with her husband she has developed a number of successful patterns especially for West Coast Cutthroat trout and Salmon.
A lifelong love of the outdoors, she fishes year-round for a variety of species and enjoys being versatile at the vice.
